Plaintiff was paralyzed from the waist down after being struck by a car traveling approximately 50 mph. The Plaintiff was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk and had the right of way to cross the intersection when the car made a turn, striking him directly. At first, the defendant denied liability but the responding policy officer placed the at-fault driver at-fault. In addition, our firm performed our own investigation, including taking witness statements and meeting with experts to solidify the negligence of the at-fault driver. Our client suffered a fractured vertebra in the cervical spine with edema of the spinal cord. He lost the ability to fully use his extremities and will likely be wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. He also suffered a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury.

Our client was killed while traveling on I-75 in Genesee County when a wheel fell of defendant’s pick-up truck, which was pulling a trailer. The wheel flew over the median wall and through the windshield of the decedent, causing fatal injuries. The defendant initially denied any wrongdoing and attributed the entire accident to a freak occurrence. Our client was seriously injured while a passenger in a ride share vehicle for a major ride share company when her vehicle was rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver. Following the accident, she had a low back fusion surgery. She turned to the ride share company for the payment of Michigan no-fault benefits and uninsured motorist benefits. The ride share company terminated benefits refused to pay outstanding no-fault benefits including pain and suffering compensation. A driver on M30 in Gladwin County failed to properly slow down for traffic that was waiting in line to make a left turn. After braking at the last second, the defendant, who was traveling over 90 mph, swerved into oncoming traffic and struck the vehicle the plaintiff operated. The crash was extremely violent, causing the plaintiff to sustain fatal injuries.

A Shiawassee County man was operating a sedan when he was hit crossing an intersection by another vehicle that failed to see him. The collision was horrific and our client’s car was totaled. The “jaws of life” were used to extract him from the wreck. Our law office retained an accident reconstruction expert to investigation and explain why the other vehicle was at-fault for causing the accident. A trucking expert was also retained. After an intensive period of discovery, the defendant had no ability to dispute liability and was forced to accept blame. Plaintiff was in a line of traffic on Haggerty Road when a vehicle suddenly stopped in front of him. Plaintiff attempted to swerve away from the vehicle and was struck by another vehicle during his evasive action. Plaintiff sustained a serious low back injury during this crash, necessitating extensive treatment including a lumbar spinal fusion surgery. Woman was hit by a drunk driver in Midland County. While on the job, our client was attempting to lower a ramp to allow merchandize off a truck that had pulled into his job site. While our client was lower the ramp, the truck unexpectedly rolled backwards, crushing him and pinning him between the truck and loading dock. The defendant driver initially denied fault, trying to place blame on her our client who was merely doing his job at the time. After careful investigation and aggressive work, including obtaining a surveillance video that recorded the car crash on tape, the defendant finally admitted to not placing the truck in park. Our client sustained a massive anterolateral hernia on the right side with colon and bowel herniation that necessitated multiple surgeries. He also sustained a right iliac wing fracture to the pelvic area, a left avulsion fracture to the lower leg/ankle, as well as a host of other injuries and permanent, serious disfigurement.

Our client was walking on a sidewalk on the west side of Detroit when an uninsured vehicle jumped a curb and struck him, causing serious injuries. The automobile no-fault insurance company responsible for paying our client’s medical bills and treatment balked at paying. The bills included in-patient treatment at a full-service rehabilitation facility. We were able to get all of his medical bills and other benefits paid.

A Detroit area man was hit by a pickup truck while riding his motorcycle. The pickup truck had failed to yield to oncoming traffic, including our client. Our client was wearing a helmet and obeyed the traffic safety laws. The crash was significant, resulting in the ambulance rushing our client to an area hospital in serious condition. Our client had multiple surgeries and out law office settled the case for the full insurance policy limits.

Our client was invited to defendant’s home in Wayne County so that defendant could look at a potential kitten for adoption. When the Plaintiff entered the home and took the kitten out of the carrier, a 100-pound Siberian Husky lunged at the plaintiff’s leg. The bite was vicious and caused multiple debridement procedures and a split-thickness skin graft surgery with skin harvested from the plaintiff’s left lateral thigh.

Client was teaching a class in a building in Oakland County when she slipped and fell on a floor that had just been mopped. The wet floor area was around the corner from the hallway she had been walking on. The company responsible for mopping the floor did not place a “warning” sign near the area to alert people of the wet floor. Our client had a severe right leg injury resulting in multiple knee surgeries.

Our client was injured in Oakland County when the steps on her porch broke after years of neglect by her landlord. She sustained a low back injury which required surgery.

Our client hired a commercial home renovation company to install siding and gutters to his home. The contract included the removal of all debris. When the job was completed, debris was left around the perimeter of the home, including pieces of aluminum and smaller pieces of wood. As he was cleaning up the debris the defendant left at this home, our client stepped on a nail protruding from a piece of wood. The foot became infected and eventually resulted in the amputation of the great toe and part of the ball of the foot. Medical treatment included multiple debridement procedures.

Our client was driving for a well-known ride sharing company when another vehicle failed to stop and violently rear-ended our client’s car. Our client sustained multiple injuries, including a low back herniation that required several epidural steroid injections and trigger point injections. She also had chiropractic treatment. The car insurance carrier responsible for paying her lost wages and medical bills refused to pay. A lawsuit was filed and eventually a settlement was made for all outstanding no-fault benefits, as well as compensation for pain and suffering against the at-fault driver. While our client was out for a walk with her two dogs on a city sidewalk, a pit bull approached and started circling our client and her dogs. The pit bull was showing its teeth. Our firm settled the case for $100,000, the full policy limits of the homeowners’ insurance policy for the pit bull owner.
