Car Accident
Plaintiff was paralyzed from the waist down after being struck by a car traveling approximately 50 mph. The Plaintiff was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk and had the right of way to cross the intersection when the car made a turn, striking him directly. At first, the defendant denied liability but the responding policy officer placed the at-fault driver at-fault. In addition, our firm performed our own investigation, including taking witness statements and meeting with experts to solidify the negligence of the at-fault driver. Our client suffered a fractured vertebra in the cervical spine with edema of the spinal cord. Car Accident
Our client was killed while traveling on I-75 in Genesee County when a wheel fell of defendant’s pick-up truck, which was pulling a trailer. The wheel flew over the median wall and through the windshield of the decedent, causing fatal injuries. He also sustained a right iliac wing fracture to the pelvic area, a left avulsion fracture to the lower leg/ankle, as well as a host of other injuries and permanent, serious disfigurement.

Hit and Run Car Accident

Premises Liability – Slip and Fall
Client was teaching a class in a building in Oakland County when she slipped and fell on a floor that had just been mopped. The wet floor area was around the corner from the hallway she had been walking on. The company responsible for mopping the floor did not place a “warning” sign near the area to alert people of the wet floor. Premises Liability
Our client hired a commercial home renovation company to install siding and gutters to his home. The contract included the removal of all debris. When the job was completed, debris was left around the perimeter of the home, including pieces of aluminum and smaller pieces of wood. As he was cleaning up the debris the defendant left at this home, our client stepped on a nail protruding from a piece of wood. The foot became infected and eventually resulted in the amputation of the great toe and part of the ball of the foot. Medical treatment included multiple debridement procedures.

Ride Sharing Accident
Our client was driving for a well-known ride sharing company when another vehicle failed to stop and violently rear-ended our client’s car. Our client sustained multiple injuries, including a low back herniation that required several epidural steroid injections and trigger point injections. She also had chiropractic treatment. The car insurance carrier responsible for paying her lost wages and medical bills refused to pay. A lawsuit was filed and eventually a settlement was made for all outstanding no-fault benefits, as well as compensation for pain and suffering against the at-fault driver. Dog Bite
While our client was out for a walk with her two dogs on a city sidewalk, a pit bull approached and started circling our client and her dogs. The pit bull was showing its teeth. Our client had her dogs on a 6ft lead. As the pit bull got closer, our client wrapped the leash tighter and started to pull her dogs closer. One of her dogs then moved away, causing our client to trip and fall on the lead. When our client fell, she heard a pop. She dislocated her left wrist and needed surgery. Our client was a hair stylist and missed more than 3 months of work. Although she returned to work, she has found her job to be very uncomfortable and she cannot do many of the tasks she could before. Our firm settled the case for $100,000, the full policy limits of the homeowners’ insurance policy for the pit bull owner.
